Tiger Hill project would be eco-friendly -Gautam Deb

BIRESWAR BANERJEE, TT, Siliguri, April 11: State tourism minister Gautam Deb today said the project taken up by his department at Tiger Hill in the Darjeeling hills would be eco-friendly and the entire work would be carried out without harming the nature.
"There is a cottage that was built by the British at Tiger Hill back in 1916. It was torched during a movement in the hills in 1986. We have taken up the task of restoring it," the minister said. "
Some people are concerned about the impact of the project on the environment.
I want to assure them that the project will be environment-friendly and it has been taken up after we got all necessary permission from the state forest department.
No government project can come up without following proper norms and rules," Deb added.
He said all "hurdles" to the mega tourist hub at Gazoldoba had been cleared.
