Hail & rain pummel three blocks

TT, Jalpaiguri: Dhupguri, Nagrakata and Metelli are the blocks hit by the storm.

A section of affected people went to the block development office in Nagrakata on Tuesday and held a demonstration, alleging that the administration had not provided them with tarpaulins and food following the calamity.

"We can no longer stay at our houses as the roofs have been damaged. There has been a drizzle since morning and if it rains at night, we will have no other option but to stay in the open and get drenched," an agitated person said.

Mitali Roy, the Trinamul MLA of Dhupguri, visited some of the affected areas.
