State inspects syllabus of schools allegedly affiliated to RSS

State inspects syllabus of schools allegedly affiliated to RSSMP | 22 March 2017 | Kolkata: The state government is looking into the syllabus that is being followed in the alleged RSS affiliated schools, state Education minister Partha Chatterjee said.
"We are looking into the syllabus which is followed in these schools and we will find out what books are being followed and whether they have obtained No Objection Certificates from the department or not," he said adding that appropriate action would be taken if they were found flouting the syllabus or did not have NOC.
Asked to comment on the allegation by RSS that the number of jihadis were on the rise in the state, Chatterjee said: " Why do you single out a particular community. Those who are bringing the allegations, what they are doing?" he said adding:
"It is unfortunate that they are fanning religious sentiments to win the elections. Trinamool Congress did not have any candidate in UP nor did we lodge any campaigns. But it is always wrong to fan religious sentiments."
Chatterjee said that the people of Bengal did not support the politics of violence or riot and any attempt to destabilise the state would be dealt with firmly.
"If they target Bengal, we will target Delhi and before they make any dents here, we will win over Delhi," he observed.
It may be recalled that CPI(M) MLA Manas Mukherjee had alleged in the Assembly that some schools owning allegiance to RSS had framed syllabus of their own.
However, the state unit of RSS denied the allegation and had stated that there was no school in the state owning allegiance to the organisation.
