Man rapes deaf and mute girl in Kalimpong

SNS, Kalimpong, 13 March 2017: The Kalimpong Police arrested a 42-year-old ruffian on Saturday for allegedly raping a 19-year-old deaf and mute girl in the Munsong Cinchona Plantation area. 

The incident happened on 11 March.The victim's mother taught the accused red-handed raping her deaf and mute daughter. The accused, after seeing the mother, ran from the house. 

Later Rompu police with the help of villagers caught hold of the man. 

The accused Surjya Tamang alias Gangate was a neighbour of the victim.

The mother of the victim is a labourer in Munsong Cinchona Plantation and her father is a carpenter. 

The accused had noticed that the parents of the girl are out for work. He took advantage of the situation and entered the victim's home and allegedly raped her. 

The victim was rushed to Kalimpong Hospital for medical assistance. 

Mean while, the accused Tamang was produced before Kalimpong ACJM court where police has filed the police custody plea. 

The court sanctioned the plea and remanded the victim in 5-day of police custody Kalimpong SP Ajit Kumar Yadav said, 'A case of rape has been registered and the accused has been remanded in 5-day police custody.
