KPP leaders meet Gurung on separate statehood errand

SNS, Darjeeling, 4 January 2017: Kamtapur People's Party (KPP) leaders met the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha chief Mr Bimal Gurung in Darjeeling today with a proposal of joint movement for separate statehood.
They held a meeting with Mr Gurung nearly for an hour and discussed many things and interacted with the Gorkha leaders about their demand of separate state including seven districts of north Bengal.
The objective of the KPP leaders' meeting with Mr Gurung was whether both the political parties can come and work together to fulfill their demand of separate statehood.
KPP general secretary Mr Subhash Barman said, We have been demanding for our separate state from Bengal since long time back but we are not successful in achieving our goal."
Today, we met the GTA chief and GJMM chief Mr Bimal Gurung to discuss about the demand for separate statehood and specially discuss the way to succeed the goal of separate statehood," said Mr Barman, adding , " We also dis¬cussed whether we can work together to demand separate state," "Some KPP leaders, belonging to Nikhil Roy faction, came here to discuss about separate statehood demand. We will inform them about our stand later after the next meeting," said GJMM chief Mr Bimal Gurung.
