AIR Gangtok to start day transmission from January
PIB, Gangtok,12th December 2016: All India Radio, Gangtok. is going to start its Day transmission from 1st January 2017.It will be available from 12 noon to 3 pm everyday.
Shri S.C. Panda, CEO, Prasar Bharati announced the decision in his meeting with AIR Gangtok officials here today. He directed the officials to start local FM Transmission from the Station at the earliest so that the programmes and news of AIR Gangtok could reach in every corner of the State. Shri Panda also instructed the officials to focus on issues related to women, agriculture, rural development , rural sports and weaker sections of the society.
All India Radio,Gangtok currently has only Morning and Evening transmissions.
In his meeting with the officials of Doordarshan, Gangtok Shri Panda announced that Arun Prabha Channel will be introduced very soon from the Gangtok Kendra.
Later,Shri Panda, called on the Governor Sri Sriniwas Patil at Raj Bhawan.The CEO, Prasar Bharati is leaving Gangtok tomorrow on conclusion of his four day long visit to the State.
