SJDA chief appointed

TT, Siliguri, Jun. 24: The state urban development department issued a notification today, saying Sourav Chakraborty, the Alipurduar MLA and Trinamul president of Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar, had been appointed as the chairman of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority.

Siliguri subdivision, four blocks of Jalpaiguri and the civic areas of Jalpaiguri and Malbazar are under the SJDA. Chakraborty, who was in Jalpaiguri today, said: "Our target is to ensure complete transparency in the SJDA. We have to carry out many work and will solicit co-operation from all."
