Protest rally in Gudgaon, .... racist remark by police officer

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 20 May 2015: Gorkhas of Delhi, NCR and adjoining areas staged demonstration in Gurgaon police station in Sushant Lok today demanding strong action against the culprits of the Gurgaon attack case in which three Gorkha youths were brutally assaulted. 
Earlier they rallied in the Gudgaon street after assembling in Sahara Malls. Gorkha people of Delhi and other areas staged demonstration in front of the DCP's Office. The group of Gorkhas in the banner of All India Gorkha Community protested that the case against the accused was not registered under the applicable section of IPC for attempt to murder and racist remark. They demanded that the arrested 5 be booked under the section 307 IPC. 
A memorandum was also submitted to the police for m action against the attackers. Deepak Saharan DCP assured the protestors that Sec 307 will be included in the police charge sheet of the 5 alleged attackers namely Naresh Gujjar, Rampal Yadav, Gaurav Pandit, Bhure Singh Khuswaha, Balram Gupta. He also assured that the rest of the accused attackers will also be arrested. 
The people living in the national capital and adjoining areas felt that the people of North East are finding themselves insecure because of the frequent attack in different plea. Gorkhas who are less in number in the capital are being facing harassment, abuse and teasing including physical attack from other communities. They are also facing such harassment even from the administration too.As such the protest rally was staged. 
In the meantime one of the police inspector present in the office premises made a sexist abusive & racist remarks against the protesting Gorkha girls. He termed Gorkha girls as Dhandewali and in the pretext of selling Momo they sale themselves which infuriated the protestors and led them to sit on a dharna at the DCP office. They protested against the remark and demanded immediate arrest of the officer. Sensing the unrest the officer fled in an I-10 car. 
The protestors demanded suspension & arrest of the erring officer, a memorandum was also submitted and a FIR was also lodged. SS Ahluwalia MP Darjeeling also contacted Mr. S Navdeep Singh Virk Gurgaon Commissioner of Police, demanding action against the sub-inspector who passed racist comment against the female protestors today.
The DCP also assured that the concerned officer will be summoned and the matter will be investigated and if found guilty, action will be taken against the alleged errant officer. Following the request of the MP, senior police officers have constituted a fact finding team to investigate the alleged racist remark. 
Meanwhile Sagar Rai was released this evening from AIMS.
